Literature Portal Sites
The Literature Resource Center of the Gale Publishing Corp. includes biographic and bibliographic information on almost all authors, as well as the full texts of criticism from a wide variety of resources and websites as well. Gale has purchased Twayne's and Scribners' author series, and this information is likewise included. To locate from the Library Webpage, choose 'L', then 'Libraries', then BCPL, then 'Encyclopedias, Magazines, and Newspapers', then 'Literary Databases', then 'Literature Research Center'. This is the best single source for criticism. It is also available from Enoch Pratt Free Library. Both libraries require input of your name and the barcode from your borrowing card. Membership in either or both library systems is free.

Literary History.com - Edited by Jan Pridmore. Includes Web Index of 19th Century English Literature, Web Resources for English Teachers, and Top Sites for Literary Research. A very useful and discriminating collection for students and teachers.
