Websites are listed below:

Most books on dance, dancers, and dance groups are to be found in the Library stacks (792-793).  Biographies are found in 921 plus the author's last name; the library has full-length books on the following: Alvin Ailey, Josephine Baker, Agnes DeMille, Margot Fonteyn, Martha Graham, Gelsey Kirkland, Waslaw Nijinsky, Valery Panov.  Two group biographies are especially useful: Prime Movers : the Makers of Modern Dance in America / Joseph Maza (793.32 M) and Dance / Carol Fowler,  in the Contributions of Women series (920 C).  Also worth attention:: The Dance Catalog (793.3 R); The Art of the Dance / Isadora Duncan (793.32 D); Where She Danced : the Birth of American Art-Dance / Elizabeth Kendall (793.3 K); The Black Tradition in American Dance / Richard Long (793.3 L); Ballet & Modern Dance / Anderson (792.8 A); Black Dance in America / Haskin; The complete Guide to Modern Dance / McDonagh (792.3 M).

The most helpful of the following Internet sites are marked with an asterisk, and additional sites may be located using any of the Search Engines located on the Library web page, such as Google, Alta Vista, or Yahoo.  Don't forget to use ProQuest or SIRS Discoverer or Researcher for articles from newspapers and magazines about dancers, choreographers, and dance groups.   The Library subscribes to Dance Magazine, and we have many years of back files for it.  It is a superb source of information on dancers, choreographers, and dance groups.  Also, Encyclopaedia Britannica Online is a good source to consult first.  If, for example, you have never heard of Merce Cunningham or Petipas or Fokine, you will be introduced to these people by consulting the articles under "Dance,""Modern Dance," or "Choreography."
