Dear 2nd - 5th grade Students and Parents,

The 30th Annual Book Swap in the Lower School was held in 2008.  What is the Book Swap?  It is an event where students can bring in paper and/or hardback books they are no longer reading and exchange them for different books brought in by other students. The students’ selection of these “new” titles relies solely on the collection of books brought in for the Book Swap; no other books are contributed for this event. Participation is a purely voluntary activity for anyone in grades 2-5. The Book Swap is held in the lobby of the Administration Building in early May. Books should be age/grade appropriate for the reading level of the student donating the books. Those titles not meeting swapping standards are not accepted.  The deadline for acceptance of books is the day before the swap.

Please keep in mind:

Once books are received for the Book Swap, they cannot be returned.  Due to the large quantity of books received, it is virtually impossible to find a specific book that has been donated.

Make sure that both parent and daughter have agreed on the books that can be donated for this event. As the books are received, a ticket is generated for each participating student indicating the number ofbooks she has donated.  Additional books may be brought in at a later time and the number will be updated on the existing ticket.

The maximum number of books to trade at the Book Swap is 10.  If you would like to bring in more than 10 books, please do.  Any remaining books will be donated to The Book Thing in Waverly.
