Not an typically organized encyclopedia, this site includes many articles from scholars in Europe and the United States about all aspects of 19th century European history leading to 1848. Copious biographical information. Some provocative paper, for example: "The European Revolutions of 1848 and 1989 : a Comparative Analysis", by Robert Goldstein; includes many entries about women and the lives of the lower classes. A valuable site, but impossible to search quickly or efficiently.
