POETRY
The Literature Resource Center of the Gale Publishing Corp. includes biographic and bibliographic information on almost all authors, as well as the full texts of criticism from a wide variety of resources and websites. Gale has purchased Twayne's and Scribners' author series, and this information is likewise included. To locate from the Library Webpage, choose 'L', then 'Libraries', then BCPL, then 'Encyclopedias, Magazines, and Newspapers', then 'Literary Databases', then ' Literature Research Center'. This is the best single source for criticism of individual authors. Also available through Enoch Pratt. Both systems require a library membership number (listed on the card they issue to permit you to borrow materials). Thus, you must have a library card to use library databases, but that card entitles you to access over $240,000 worth of databases as of Jan. 2002)
New Resources: we have added in-house access to Twayne's and Scribner's Writers Series. See Infotrac from Online Resources on the Library's site available to all school computers and with the password you have been given for home use.
